IPA Assembly 2012 due to begin soon
The IPA Assembly will be held from 21 to 27 September in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Presentation Sisters around the world have been preparing for this gathering by daily praying the Assembly Prayer, reflecting on Consciousness Evolving, and also reading and praying with the Treasured Narrative Memory and in groups or individually responding to the question: What do we see emerging among us as Presentation People on mission?
The theme “Rock, Sea, Fire, Consciousness Evolving” arose out of our reflection on the land on which we will meet and the evolving cosmos:
- our response to the FIRE of Nano’s story and the beginnings of the universe
- the heart for God’s Mission that led Presentation Sisters to cross the SEA to so many lands
- the ROCK of faith and courage in us, in which our hope for the future can be reborn.
The goals of the 2012 Assembly are:
- to affirm each sister’s contribution to IPA’s mission
- to deepen our sense of oneness in the spirit of Nano, lived out in diverse ways
- to deepen our consciousness of the Universe Story and of our interconnectedness with the whole community of life
- to become more aware of the ways in which IPA’s mission has evolved over the past five years and implications of this for the future
- to nurture a contemplative stance throughout the Assembly
- to set clear directions for IPA’s mission in the next five years.

Greetings from Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. Our Sisters – Antonia, Bernadina and Lawrencia arrive here from their mission in rural Aitape on Tuesday 11 Sept. They will be making last minute preparations for their journey to Newfoundland. They will be looking for something warm to wear. There is never need for warm clothes here!!! And they will need some money to overnight in Hong Kong before their long journey across the Pacific Ocean to Toronto. We are all excited about this special IPA gathering and pray that the Spirit will gift us all with listening hearts. Every blessing. We will be looking forward to news from Newfoundland. With love, Mary and Joyce

My thoughts and prayers are with all of the Presentation Sisters and Associates who are gathering at St. John’s Newfoundland Sept. 21-27. I pray that your shared reflection on Nano’s spirit and mission throughout the world will give us all a clear call to live out her charism for the next five years and into the future. My heart is with you as I remember all the wonderful Presentation people I met from 1989 – 1995 as the first IPA coordinator. Newfoundland, the Sisters and people are beautiful! LOVE, Beth
I feel connected with you in spirit as you gather to lead us to a renewed vision of what Nano would encourage us to do to be of service, each in her own little part of the globe. As we ponder the universe, let us be grounded in mother earth, its peoples and its creatures. God is at the heart of the cosmos and God’s kingdom on earth is our mission.
Thoughts and prayers are with you all. May the Spirit inspire and guide you.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you who will be continuing the spirit of the first IPA gathering in Los Gatos, CA , the birthplace of the Assembly. It was a memorable moment and you are continuing that moment and bringing it into the future. In the process you will be experiencing the wonderful Presentation Spirit of the Newfoundland Sisters. May the Spirit of our all-loving God guide and direct you each step of the way.
Best wishes, prayers and blessings to all of you who have gathered in Newfoundland. These days, especially when we gather for “Be Still” time, we pray for an outpouring of the Spirit upon you as you discern our common mission into the future.
Blessings on this first day of assembly. You are all in my thoughts and prayers and many of you are in my happy memory.
Lovingly,
Rosina
